ABOUT US

 

The Sun Inn is a traditional 16th Century Pub in the picturesque village of Bassenthwaite located approx 7 miles from Keswick and Cockermouth. There are original oak beams and an open fire which adds to the ambiance of this quaint pub. We welcome well behaved dogs but do ask that they have leads on and  keep their paws on the floor.  We are wheelchair accessible throughout.

DINING CHOICES

There is formal and informal dining options seated in the bar or restaurant area.  We can cater for up to 70 covers at a time, however we do get busy so booking is always advisable.

ALES

We have 2 resident real ales as well as seasonal guest ales.  In addition we sell a choice of lagers and ciders on draft and assorted bottled beers and ciders.  We stock a wide range of Malt Whiskeys and Gins.  We sell a varied choice of wines available by the glass or bottle to enjoy at the table or in the bar.

 

FOOD

Our food is locally sourced where available and that includes our ice creams and cheeses. Our meat is sourced from local butchers.  We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and have Gluten Free choices including desserts.
